For my Design and make product i used CAD & CAM to produce parts of my pet feeder product.

What i learnt:
- I have experienced first hand how easily you can fall into the trap of doing EVERYTHING on the laser cutter. Initially it was only intended to cut out the main faceplates and then use hand tools and manual machines however it was so easy to just draw everything on 2Design and send to the laser. It also limited me with my Systems and control product as when approaching design i found i started designing around the capabilities of the laser cutter. I could have made use of other CAD machines to create a much more sophisticated casing instead of opting the easy way out.
what i will do differently next time
- Fit the CAM machines around my design and and not my Design around the CAM machines.
- Use a variety of CAM machines to create more sophisticated products and consider the most appropriate machine to use.
- Consider if using a machine is even the right course of action, it might be more appropriate to use hand tools instead.
